Codebreakers Decode Mary, Queen of Scots's letters

1. A team of codebreakers have discovered and decoded a lost letter written by Mary, Queen of Scots.
2. Mary Stuart wrote 57 letters to the French Ambassador to England between 1578 and 1584.
3. They were all written in code. French computer scientist and cryptographer Georges Lasry and his team set out to crack them.
4. In the letter, Mary complained about her ill health and confinement.
5. Mary also writes that she believes that her release negotiations with Queen Elizabeth I were not conducted in good faith.
6. Mary, Queen of Scots was an iconic figure in Scottish history.
7. She ruled from 1542 to 1567 and is remembered for her strong determination and devotion to the Catholic Faith despite strong opposition.
8. 'Mary, Queen of Scots, left behind an extensive corpus of letters held in various archives,' Lasry said in a statement.
9. 'However, there was previous evidence that other letters from Mary Stuart were missing from those collections. The letters we have deciphered are likely part of this lost secret correspondence.'

2. श्चुवार्ट्-मेरी अष्टसप्ततुत्तरपञ्चदशशततमात् चतुरशीत्युत्तरपञ्चदशशततमपर्यन्तम् आङ्ग्लदेशे नियुक्तं फ़्रान्सीयं दूतं प्रति पञ्चसप्ततिं पत्राणि अलिखत्।
3. गूढभाषायां लिखितानि। जोर्जलास्रिनाम्ना फ़्रान्सीयः सङ्गणकवैज्ञानिकः गूढभाषागवेषकः तथा तस्य दलं स्पष्टीकरणरतः अभवन्।
4. पत्रेषु मेरी स्वीयम् अनारोग्यं निग्रहणं प्रति आक्षेपणं कुर्वन्ती लिखितवती।
5. राज्ञ्या एरिसबेसु-प्रथमया सह विमोचन-वार्ता कापट्येन क्रियमाना आसीत् इति स्वीय-विश्वासमपि मारी प्रकटितवती।
6. स्काट-राज्ञी मेरी स्काटदेशस्य चरित्रे प्रतिष्ठिता।
7. द्विचत्वारिंशदुत्तरपञ्चदशतमात् सप्तषष्ट्युत्तरपञ्चदशतमपर्यन्तम् आसनारूढा सा सुदृढ-विरोधे सत्यपि काथोलिकमतं प्रति स्वीयायै श्रद्धायै निश्चयतायै च स्मर्यते।
8. स्काट-राज्ञ्या मेर्या विभिन्न-पुरालेखागारेषु सङ्गृहीतानां पत्राणां सुविस्तर-कोशः अवशिष्यते इति लास्लिः वर्णितवान्।
9. किन्तु श्चुवार्ट्-मेर्या लिखितानाम् इतराणि पत्राणि संग्रहात् च्युतानि सन्ति इत्यस्य पूर्व-प्रमाणमासीत्। अस्माभिः स्पष्टीकृतानि पत्राणि सम्भवतः च्युतानां गूढपत्राणाम् एकस्मिन् भागे स्थितानि सन्ति।
